Improving health & wellness on Bowen: Read our 1st-annual Progress Report

It’s a wrap! It’s been a momentous first year for the Bowen Island Community Health Centre since we opened our doors to welcome the community in April 2024, thanks to the generous contributions of more than 500 Bowen Island donors, and strong partnerships with the BC Ministry of Health and Vancouver Coastal Health Authority.

Since opening, we’ve matched more than 2,100 patients with a family practitioner and delivered 15,000-plus appointments. We expanded our integrated care team to include four family physicians, a nurse practitioner, a registered nurse and three community health coordinators. In addition, we welcomed new services and tenants: LifeLabs, Bowen Island Dental and The Gym on Bowen.

We are excited to share our very first annual Progress Report 2024-25. The report highlights a commitment to responsive, quality care, ongoing recruitment and deepening community partnerships. It also outlines our future direction: expanding services and strengthening the integrated care model that has already made a meaningful difference in the lives of islanders.
